The Treat Your Heart Loves
I read an article on WebMD recently, which was posted after they reviewed studies from a couple of prestigious scientific journals. I had heard before that DARK CHOCOLATE had health benefits, so I wanted to know more about it.
The helpful aspect of the treat is the antioxidants it possesses, which are found to help prevent heart disease and other diseases. Apparently milk reduces the absorption of the antioxidants in the body, which is why the benefits are only there if you eat dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate AND if you do not eat your dark chocolate while drinking milk.
And just like anything else, moderation is a factor so small portions are ideal. They suggest you replace another treat with dark chocolate, but don't replace your healthy foods with dark chocolate.
If you want to give your loved ones a treat, give them dark chocolate and let them know you're giving it to them because they are significant to your heart and because it is better for theirs.
