Cherry Cheese Surprise

Amiee's step-mom taught us how to make this dessert years ago, and I can't even count the number of times we've made it and other flavors of it.  People love it!  You don't have to tell your guests it was this easy.  🙂

Cherry Cheese Surprise

Ingredients:

·      1 package of cream cheese (8 oz)

·      1 can of cherry pie filling

·      1 graham cracker crumb crust

·      1 cup of powdered sugar

·      3 tablespoons of milk

·      1 small tub of cool whip

Directions:

With an electric mixer, combine cream cheese (easier at room temperature), powdered sugar, and milk.  Spread mixture in crust.  Add pie filling on top of cheese mixture.  Add cool whip on top of pie filling.  Put in fridge for a few hours or overnight.  Serve chilled.

*You can substitute any pie filling for cherry. You can also sub any pudding for the pie filling.  A chocolate pudding made with a little less milk, so it's thicker, makes a fantastic chocolate cream pie on top of the cheese filling!

*To make your own graham cracker crust, mix 1.5 – 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs, 6 tablespoons of melted butter, and ¼ cup of brown sugar until mixed well.  Press mixture into pie pan.
